Friulano

De Italiaanse witte druif friulano werd lange tijd tocai friulano genoemd, maar om de reputatie van de zoete Hongaarse wijn Tokaj te beschermen, is dat inmiddels verboden. De historische wortels van het ras liggen in Zuidwest-Frankrijk, maar friulano is nu de signatuurdruif van het Noord-Italiaanse wijngebied Friuli. Hij is gevoelig voor vocht en daardoor op z’n best in droge wijngaarden. Hij brengt frisse wijnen voort, met vaak een kruidige toets.
